The Simple Skin Care Routine When You Don’t Have Time

Most of us just don’t have the time to follow a 10-step skincare routine like they do in Korea. And sometimes it feels we don’t even have the time for half of that.

But, a hectic schedule is no excuse to neglect your skin!

If you seriously have no time to take care of your skin, these 3 steps are non-negotiables and it takes you less than 5 minutes to apply:

Step 1 – CLEANSE

Cleansing should always be done twice a day, in the morning and night. With all the dirt and grime that builds up on the skins’ surface throughout the day, cleansing is one of the first step of any skincare routine. Rather than using makeup wipes, which can be abrasive and drying, we recommend a gentle cleanser such as Embalm Skincare’s Uplifting Cleanser to rejuvenate and replenish your skin.

Step 2 – TONE

Toners can make a huge difference to how your skin looks and feels after cleansing. Their purpose is to remove everything that the cleanser leaves behind and it nourishes and replenishes your skin, refines your pores and improves the appearance of your skin.

Step 3 – MOISTURISE

Moisturiser is a must – day and night!

If you’re spending lots of time outdoors, try using a moisturiser with SPF to protect your skin from sun damage and premature ageing. If you prefer to use the same moisturiser at night, you can always apply sunscreen on top of your moisturiser. That way your skin gets so soak up all the nutrition the moisturiser provides.

You should definitely be using a natural moisturiser, such as Embalm Skincare’s award-winning Luxurious Face Cream with healing, rejuvenating and replenishing properties.  Our skin repairs itself while we sleep so why not give your skin the best to rejuvenate overnight.

Step 4- EXFOLIATE (optional)

If you can fit it into your busy schedule, try to exfoliate at least once or twice a week to remove the layers of dead skin to leave you with a healthier glow and brighter skin. If you’re really pressed for time you can use a konjac sponge in combination with your cleanser for daily yet gentle exfoliation. It can make a huge difference to your complexion.

BONUS TIPS

Makeup

Make sure you always (and we really mean always) remove your makeup before going to bed. Our  skin needs to breathe overnight and makeup prevents that. Leaving makeup on overnight clogs the pores which may cause blemishes and/or blackheads.

Diet

Eat fresh fruits, greens, sufficient protein and vitamins. A diet low in fats and sugar and rich in vitamin C promotes radiant skin. A low-sugar diet can keep insulin levels down, allowing cells to maintain a healthy balance.
